Includes my short story “The Last Ride,” about a young soldier proving his mettle against Pancho Villa and then leading men in a desperate cavalry charge in WWI.
For fans of the “weird west” genre, “Snake Oil” is a story about a halfling ranger who saves two elixir peddlers and the mysterious effect they have over his dusty frontier town.
My first short story. A blend of the fantasy and western genres about a halfling ranger ambushed by bandits who teams up with a rancher to exact revenge.
Another “weird west” story. When a sleepy town is raided by gnolls, the rangers are in hot pursuit to rescue the captives. What they find in the wilderness frontier is brutal and shocking.
A historical fiction short story, “Blood on the Medina” is about how a returning veteran of the Civil War becomes the town marshall after investigating a murder on the bank of the Medina river.
